Get The August Look!

August 11, 2014

August is one of my favourite months! The summer is still here and often this month’s the hottest – what’s not to like?

I wish I’d have some holiday left so I can go somewhere nice, roam around on a deserted beach and enjoy the sunset. But I don’t – so I prepared an outfit that will remind us of the beach and the see even if we are not there this summer!

Tahitian pearls adorn the gorgeous bracelet I used to create the outfit. Like always I have created two outfits around the same piece of jewellery. You can wear one outfit when you go to the pool this August, catch a nice tan and enjoy a relaxing afternoon. The second outfit you can wear in the evening – maybe when you are going out for cocktails with your friends or – why not? – on your first date with that cool guy you’ve meet at the pool! (more…)

Summer’s most wanted

July 22, 2014

We all know we are in the middle of the summer – the hot season! I love it and I know you do too. The season for hot, sunny holidays! Sitting on the beach all day, getting the perfect tan. Roaming around Paris or Rome streets – sightseeing, walking ancient paths. And of course – a small bag that’s easy to carry and even better the one piece of jewellery that’s going to match your favourite dress, top and shoes.

I’ve put together two outfits perfect for your summer holiday. I used one of my favourite jewellery sets. It’s made up on mother of pearl coins, together with flowery silver connectors. Jewellery made from mother of pearl falls in the group referred to as organic jewellery — jewellery that originates from a living creature, plant or organism. (more…)

Father’s Day

June 10, 2014

Buying gifts is always very hard, regardless of the recipient – to pick an item that the other person will love is a difficult task. Father’s Day is getting closer now, so if you haven’t found the perfect gift yet – here is an idea of a few manly gifts that will make you the favourite daughter!

Jewellery has been worn by men since Ancient times. In ancient Rome, for instance, only certain ranks could wear rings and later consumption laws dictated who could wear what type of jewellery, again based on rank. In the African Maasai tribe the women regularly weave and bead jewellery. For both Maasai women and men beauty is a very important aspect of culture and the beads are used as a form of adornment throughout everyday life, ceremonies, and rites of passage and is often given to visitors as a sign of gratitude and respect. The Website Owner

April 14, 2014

Craftseller magazineEverything starts out from scratch, and so did my business. I didn’t have a plan or a pattern, I just let myself follow the path and it worked out wonderfully in the end! Beading was always something that relaxed me. Of course sometimes when you come back from work, after a stressful day, it is nicer to just jump in your onesie and have a cup of hot chocolate and some cupcakes, along with a foot rub too maybe! But that doesn’t happen very often :) So I started beading instead.

It was a roller coaster at first. Which are the best platforms to sell on? What kind of photos should I take? How big do they have to be? What is the best description you can give to your item, so it makes it more wanted than the other ones? But in the end, baby steps brought me here where I am today. And I am happy I had helpful friends and customers along the way :) (more…)

Spring Outfit

March 30, 2014

We can all feel the soft breeze of the early spring settling in. Of course every now and then, there’s a bit of rain and fog – just to remind us of the winter that doesn’t want to leave us yet! Green is one of the colours that surely brings us the spring idea insight. It’s also one of my favourite colours so I use it as much as I can.

Green is the colour of balance and harmony. Green is the colour of prosperity and abundance, of finance and material wealth. It relates to the business world, to real estate and property. Prosperity gives a feeling of safety to green. On the down side, the colour green can be possessive and materialistic with a need to own people and things. (more…)

Classy for Spring

March 6, 2014

I love jade! It’s one of my favourite gemstones and the mountain jade comes in so many colours that isn’t so hard to pick one! It is actually a dolomite marble commonly referred to as “mountain jade“, a lovely gemstone with a subtle internal shimmer that naturally occurs in pink, white or gray but is commonly enhanced to reflect every colour of the rainbow. Mountain jade lore suggests the gem alleviates sorrow and encourages original ideas. I think all gemstones are versatile and certainly the jade gemstone is one of them.

We all love colours – green, yellow, red, purple – living in such a gray environment and seeing the sun only every now and then it is very important to mix and match the colours in our outfits.

I started playing with Polyvore not so long ago. It’s a lot of fun to pick a piece of jewellery and build an outfit around it.

Today I chose to build an outfit around a lavender jade bracelet. I found it to be very feminine, with small lavender printed flowers on porcelain beads. Porcelain also gives it a superior feeling, we all know how nicely presented porcelain is and that is well known to be expensive. A sign of royalty. (more…)

Matching Pieces Of Jewellery

February 19, 2014

At first I beaded for myself, then for friends and family because everyone approved of my “talents” I decided to sell my work. Of course sometimes I keep some pieces for myself, the ones I fall in love with and I know I can’t do without! It is mostly bracelets but also a very lovely necklace I made especially for myself from Mookaite Jasper. I try to accessorize my dresses with my own pieces of jewellery and I sometime spend time shopping for a dress that might match one of my bracelets. I know it should be the other way around! But who cares :)

I’ve used Polyvore to put together a couple of outfits. One is a nice cozy outfit for a rainy day that can bring the smile to your face and the other one is the perfect outfit to wear for lunch out with the girls. The jewellery is so versatile that it fits in both situations perfectly! (more…)
